Hello Charlie,
Congratulations on starting a project of the Berkshire nylon factory. I had many memory's of my time in the nylon, I started on the 4th August 1975 till 30th March 1992.
I began life in the ULSTER HOISERY DEPARTMENT, as a yarn servicer
When I reached 18 I then became a spot checker under the supervisory of the late Tommy Irvine. During my latter years I became a knitter, looking after 30 knitting machines. We all became close friends, right from the top down to the humble cleaner
I read in an earlier letter from colleague about having a reunion. What a great idea.
Just looking at the great pictures of the 10 year service awards brings back memory's of the working staff of the Nylon factory. The likes of big Martin Brown, Mervyn Beattie, Stevie, Smithey,Rigger, Jim Leslie, Wally Wigston, Liz and Betty, Wm Todd, Ken Gladwell, Mike Smyth, big Sam and wee Davy Brown

There must be another photo out there somewhwere of the1981 awards, it would have the likes of Eddie Arnold, Adam Palmer in it?

My condolences goes out to the family's of the late Hughie Brown a gentleman, also the late Tommy Irvine, Jimmy Cousins, Mike Smyth, Norman Carnduff, Lawernce Jardine, Wilfie Finnigan, Jim McNulty, Billy Patton ,Robert Weir. These lads were part of the Seamfree set up and were good friends

Keep up the good work Charlie
Best Regards   Stephen McCormick Seamfree Knitting Department.
