Writes in the Memory of our former great engineering colleague Hugh Brown

My father the late Hugh Brown was maintenance manager and looked after the boilers in the factory for 45 years. He work worked in both Dundonald and Newtownards factories. he was on 24 hour call and it seemed that most of his life revolved around the factory. When he retired of ill health, he watched the factory being demolished from his home as you could see it from there.

When my son was young, my father used to take him to the factory some Saturdays when he went to check the boilers. He also maintaned the macinary and whenever any broke down he had to come in and fix them. He even went to Germany to see about how to install new machinary.
