Manufacturing of Seamfree Tights

Knitting - Single leg tubes were knit in approximately 90 seconds each; starting with the elasticated waistband, then pantie reinforcement, leg and finishing with the reinforced toe.
Toe Stitching-The tube toe is turned, the reinforcement area is cut and overlocked to the correct shape and the excess fabric was discarded. The tube is then turned again to produce an inside-seam.
Dyeing- In some cases the tubes are assembled after dyeing but more often they are assembled before dyeing. Two dozen pairs are placed in an open net or bag and securely tied with a rubber identity tag. 300 dozen pairs are scoured and dyed in one batch. During the five hour cycle, samples are taken for comparison to the master shade pattern, and when the correct shade is attained the dyestuff is drained off. After rinsing, a finish is added to the batch to give a resultant soft handle. After tumble-drying and cooling, the shade is inspected beneath fluorescent colour-matching tubes, and approved by a Quality Inspector.
Garment Asembly - The methods can vary according to the style, but basically all the tubes are cut at the pantie area and two of them are seamed together to make a pair. Where the pantie has been knit for the larger sizes an additional peice of material is sewn in for extra stretch.
Inspection - Every pair is hand examined over a rotable form to stretch the tights to reveal any faults or weaknesses.
Quality Control
- Random and Daily inspections are carried out on every process every day.
Packing - After inspection each batch goes forward to the Packing Section and hand, or machine packed in Slimfold attractively designed materials.
